What women can achieve if they make up their minds?

In 2010, Mahila Din celebrations were going on in our society, the usual majja and masti, as nowadays this day has become another festival to enjoy. I was a little disturbed and asked the ladies in the society what their plans were for the future. A few had some career plans but nothing for their whole life. So I requested those who were interested to make their plans to come to my flat that night.

Eight to ten ladies came. All were housewives, except one. The one who was making money was unhappy with her life. I explained to them my concept of ‘Self Esteem Tree and Action Plan of Life’. With a lot of trouble, brainstorming, and emotional venting, they could discover their own strengths and what they really wanted to do in their lives.

Now, after 12 years, one of them who was a housewife has completed her post-graduation in Mathematics and has submitted her thesis for a PhD. She is now a senior faculty member at an engineering college. She also renewed her interest in painting and has already exhibited her paintings at exhibitions, including the Jehangir Art Gallery. She has also been chosen to set papers for Mumbai University. She is currently taking tuition classes for maths and drawing; learning music; so on and so forth. She has now become unstoppable.

Another lady, a housewife, completed her fashion designing course and also completed her law graduation by doing LLM. She recently argued her first case in court. She is helping her community by guiding them and encouraging them to go ahead in life.

The lady, who was not happy in her career and life, started asserting her position with more clarity and firmness. Now she is at the top of her career and is recognised by her employer.

One lady, who was again a housewife, completed her B.Ed and is now a teacher in a school.

Success is not about earning; it is about taking charge of your own life with complete awareness and responsibility, leading to inner peace.
